Description
The Division of Endocrinology, Department of Medicine, at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine seeks an open rank, fixed term faculty member to grow our outpatient transitions and virtual care programs within the core clinical, educational, and research missions of a large academic medical center. Academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Clinical responsibilities will include coverage of our inpatient consult services, precepting fellows in the outpatient clinic, and expanding our division’s footprint in North Carolina through virtual care services. This faculty member will have a focus on quality improvement and patient safety across inpatient and ambulatory settings. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, be skilled at communicating and working collaboratively across disciplines/departments, and participate in the education of colleagues and trainees, including but not limited to medical students, residents, and fellows. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated, efficient physician who is interested in innovative pathways of care.
The outpatient practice is located at the UNC Eastowne Medical Office Building (MOB), a state-of-the-art center which opened in 2021 and is located just a few miles from the UNC Medical Center campus. The Eastowne MOB has on-site radiology, laboratory and infusion services, outpatient pharmacy, and ample complimentary parking. This building houses the academic clinical practices of most of the Department of Medicine’s divisions, allowing for high-level collaboration, collegiality, and care delivery.
